ingredients
4 cups sliced tart apples (I use 4-5 small Granny Smith apples)
¾ cup packed dark brown sugar
½ cup all-purpose flour (or gluten free baking flour)
½ cup oats (regular or gluten free)
⅓ cup margarine or butter, softened
¾ tsp ground cinnamon
¾ tsp ground nutmeg
bake it!
Heat oven to 375° F.
Lightly grease a pan that is 8 x 8 x 2 inches.
Place apple slices in the pan.
Combine the remaining ingredients and spread evenly over the apple slices.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown. The apple slices should be tender.
Serve warm with or without vanilla ice cream!
